BUILDING ENGINEER(Part-Time)
The Building Engineer is responsible for the repair & maintenance of the Authority’s facilities, equipment, and grounds to ensure that the services and facilities are in a safe an exceptional working manner. The Building Engineer performs work in, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, structural, HVAC, and building systems in the maintenance, repair, and construction of Authority property.
Position is part-time and requires irregular schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Trade certification in electrical, carpentry, HVAC or plumbing preferred. Thorough knowledge of commercial building and trades skills, ability to read blueprints, use of tools and equipment and strong oral and written communication skills preferred. Must have high school diploma or equivalent GED and 18 years of age or older. Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license. ON-CALL FACILITY WORKER (part time)
This position is to provide assistance in an On-Call, as need basis for the facility. As an On-Call facility worker some of your duties will include room set-up/tear down, perform, custodial duties such as cleaning of restrooms, maintaining interior and exterior of facilities.
LANSING CITY MARKET ON-CALL FACILITY WORKER (part time) The Facility Worker performs housekeeping, custodial services, snow removal, grounds services and room/event set tasks in order to provide a superior experience for the guests and/or vendors of the Lansing Center, Cooley Law School Stadium and Lansing City Market. Thorough knowledge of commercial housekeeping and custodial service methods, skills, and materials, including the ability to operate custodial equipment, understand general housekeeping/custodial terms, use of tools and equipment, general safety practices and procedures, planning, organization, oral and written communication skills, leadership and customer service procedures, and general event/room set-up/tear down. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in custodial services, housekeeping, and/or special event set-up/tear-down. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED. Associate and/or Bachelors Degree from an accredited college with a degree in custodial/housekeeping or similar field preferred. Must have a valid Michigan ID or driver’s license. EVENT STAFF (On Call/Part Time) This position is required to work flexible weekday, evening and weekend hours. There is no minimum hour guarantee. These positions work at the Lansing Center and Cooley Law School Stadium and are based on event schedules. Available positions are for supervisors, ticket takers, door guards and ushers.
