EVENT COORDINATOR (Full Time)
The Sales and Services Department seeks a full-time team member, who possesses a professional and positive attitude/demeanor, who is customer service focused, with an outstanding attention to detail to fill their Event Coordinator position. Supervised by the Event Services/Box Office Manager, the Event Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ability to work independently; ability to acquire accurate detailed information to plan, coordinate, and monitor client-produced and LEPFA events; ability to provide superior experiences for LEPFA’s customers, guests and/or vendors of LEPFA facilities and events; and ability to interact with others in a courteous, cooperative and professional manner. Position directs the work activities of LEPFA and contractual employees to meet customer/guest needs in a cooperative manner, utilizing decision making skills while adhering to procedures, policies, and safety guidelines.
Use of computer equipment/software is required to communicate event information; as well as organizational skills/abilities in maintaining event planning filing systems and records; the ability to follow billing procedures; and other duties as assigned/directed by Event Services/Box Office Manager. Hours worked are event driven to best serve our customers; the Event Coordinator position requires irregular schedules, evenings, weekends and holidays, long shifts, and may include short notice of shift adjustments.
Position routinely assists diverse clients, staff, guests and vendors with event coordination, in a unique, fun, fast paced, customer service driven industry. Minimum requirements: Graduation from an accredited two year college or university with a degree in hospitality, public administration, business administration or related field.
Event Planning/Management experience in the industry may be substituted at the rate of one (1) year experience for each year of college. Experience in event planning/management, or combination of equivalent, experience derived from a convention center, stadium or other public assembly facility preferred. Computer skills, including knowledge of all Office Suite programs and ability to quickly learn event management software (Delphi and/or Meeting Matrix a plus) are required. LEPFA offers an excellent benefits package. SALARY RANGE $28,000-$35,250. 2ND SHIFT MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT: BUILDING ENGINEER (Full Time)
The Maintenance Department seeks a full-time, detail oriented, skilled trades trained, team player for the second shift. Responsibilities include repair and maintenance of the Authority’s facilities, equipment, infrastructure and grounds to ensure that services & facilities are in safe & exceptional working condition, in an efficient, effective and timely manner. Supervised by the Maintenance Manager and performs work of skilled maintenance personnel including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, structural, HVACR and building systems in the maintenance, repair, and construction of Authority properties, events, and equipment. Knowledge of blueprints, schematics and/or construction specifications to properly identify, maintain and repair facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery. Position keeps all facilities’ tools, machinery and equipment in good, safe condition. Assists Maintenance Manager in inventory control of tools, machinery and equipment; utilizes work order system for repairs; and maintains supply & equipment storage areas in a neat and orderly manner.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent GED; 18 years of age or older; possess & maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license. Certification in electrical, carpentry, HVACR or plumbing preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience performing maintenance & repairs on commercial structures. Position routinely assists diverse clients, staff, and vendors in a unique customer service-driven industry.
Position is full-time, afternoon shift 2p–10p, CBA covered. Comprehensive benefits package, hourly starting wage $20.56.
